I know Nano (Grandisons Midnight Magic) already since he was a 7 weeks old puppy when I visited him and his siblings at his breeders’ place. I also got to meet Nano’s mother, grandmother, grandfather (in Sweden), and even great grand mother (in Norway) and loved their friendly temperament and correct anatomy and type. Then I saw Nano again when he was 18 months old and liked him a lot and put him onto my “possible stud dog list” for later. Now he is 4 years old and matured nicely. His health tests came out fine and he passed the official – but voluntary – temperament test of the Swedish Kennel Klub (BPH = Beteende och Personlighetsbeskrivning Hund). And now was the time to use him for my girl Leni (GaiAlmas Leni-Lagertha). More info about her can be found on her own page.
The puppies will have a very American pedigree, with both grandfathers on mother’s and father’s side being purely US bred – and also many US ancestors on both grandmother’s lines, which otherwise consist of a nice blend of Scandinavian and German lines. Nano’s father Stormy was the winner of the GDCA Nationals in 2018 and comes from black/fawn/brindle lines which have not been used extensively. Combined with my Leni this is a very wide outcross with a COI (coefficient of inbreeding) of 0% and an ALC (Ancestor Loss Coefficient) of 91,94% (calculated with 6 generations). This means the genetic variety of the offspring is very high, which is promoting both a good physical and mental health.
Both Leni and Nano have been shown several times in different countries and got mostly excellent results. Their parents are (Multi) Champions, but more important is that 3 of them are still alive and already reached a good age and are all heart screened with best results. Leni’s father was already 8,5 years old when mating and producing 15 puppies, and died at the age of almost 9 years due to a spleen tumor. He was of course also heart screened. Also Leni and Nano have a fresh heart ultrasound/EKG/Auscultation by renowned cardiologists and are healthy. The upcoming parents are both anatomically sound, have a fantastic movement, are friendly and curious and absolutely fit for function. The same can be expected for their offspring.
Four beautiful puppies were born on the 10th of September. One merle girl, one black male and two harlequin males. Leni is a fantastic mother and the babies are doing great.
