On this page I want to present the lovely oldies from my breeding programme, which started 2017 with my first litter in Germany (A-litter vom Irschener Winkel). You can find all my past litters here. My foremost breeding goal is health and longevity and improving the average lifespan of the great dane, which is unfortunately only 6,5 years. So every dog who gets older is already a little success, but of course I also don’t forget about the ones who died earlier. I am completely transparent with the data of death and health results of my dogs, you can find them all entered in the the international database www.danesworld.info. Without honesty we cannot improve the health problems of this breed! Unfortunately there are many breeders who prefer not to publish any data that might “damage” their reputation and prefer to advertise their few veterans. But there is NO breeding line on this planet without the common hereditary diseases of the great dane, they appear sooner or later. If we are not transparent and don’t collaborate, we cannot improve the situation of this wonderful breed, so breeders should be more worried about damaging the great dane than their reputation!
But also the puppy buyers play an important role, as you see here. Not only how they rear and keep their dogs contributes to their health (although there are of course hereditary diseases which appear nevermind how hard you try to give your dog the best life. And there is still a lot of research to be done why certain diseases appear). It is also crucial that they keep in touch with the breeder and inform him if the dog has a disease or died. Otherwise it is impossible for a breeder to evaluate if he is successful with his breeding programme!
