GaiAlmas Pippilotta x Catapha’s Legacy of Atomic
COI: 0,00%, ALC: 94,21
2 puppies/1 stillborn (fawn male)
1/1 black

The puppies at the age of 4 weeks

As there were only two puppies in the litter (a big fawn boy was unfortunately born dead because it took to long to get him out), a girl and a boy, and both black, Cookie’s co-owner suggested to name them after Odin’s Ravens Hugin and Munin, and I thought this suits them perfectly! Here some pictures of them at the age of 8 weeks. Hugin has stayed with us and Munin doesn’t live too far away and I am her co-owner, so I can one day have a litter with her – if she develops well.
The parents of the litter are my wonderful fawn girl Cookie (GaiAlmas Pippilotta) and the black male Catapha’s Legacy of Atomic (fawn and blue carrier) from Finland. He was born in 2000 and lived almost 10 years. Many of his ancestors also reached a very high age, such as his father who lived 12 years (see the b/w picture in the gallery below) and his grandfather who lived 11 years. Some pictures of Legacy below:
Legacy’s health tests have perfect results and he is even Champion in many countries, international champion, and – the most important result – World Veteran Winner! But as you know, Champion titles are not so important to me. I chose him because of the many other reasons I mentioned here. He also had a litter in Finland many years ago out of which all dogs reached a high age!

This mating is a wide outcross with many rare and long-living breeding lines from the USA, Scandinavia, Switzerland and Germany. The genetic variety is even enlarged by combining harle, black, fawn and blue lines. Munin carries fawn, and thus can bring fresh blood into the fawn/brindle color group – but can also be used in harle breeding – and Hugin carries fawn and blue, and can bring fresh blood into all three color groups.
